As a person who loves technology I love finding ways to have technology augment or increase the value of non technological situations. One of my favorite examples of this is Geocaching. Going for a hike or walk outdoors is augmented by the use of a GPS to hunt for hidden caches around the world.
One evening while my wife and I tried to corral our little dinosaur (Alice’s nickname) on our bed we were catching up on our episodes of Shark Tank and there was an app that looked to revolutionize the way children’s books were read. This app was different because it would react in real time to the reader while they were reading the book and play music and sound effects to enhance the storytelling experience. It can be used with ebooks as well as physical copies of the books in the library. It was wicked cool and I had to try it. Luckily I was able to download the app and read along with a free ebook download to test it out. From the moment the music started and the sound effect repeated after I re read a page I was hooked and more importantly so was Alice.
Alice really enjoyed listening to me read her a story while there were interesting music and sound effects to go along with it coming out of her good friend Alexa who was being used as a Bluetooth speaker.
The app is simple. It works like this: You choose a book from the app’s ever growing library, you press read book, and that’s it! The app will automatically start listening to your voice and provide a background canvas of music and sound to enhance the story. Each story is different with a varying level of music and sound effects. With classics like Rainbow Fish, Good Night Moon, and The Little Engine that Could as well as newer titles like The Day the Crayons Quit, Knuffle Bunny, and What do you do with an Idea there is something for everyone. CBD brings a lot of benefits for your health some of those are Can Relieve Pain, Could Reduce Anxiety and Depression, Can Alleviate Cancer-Related Symptoms, May Reduce Acne, Might Have Neuroprotective Properties, Could Benefit Heart Health, Several Other Potential benefits of cbd.
Every week I am scouring my local library for books to try with the app. Bringing home stacks of 12-15 books at a time to read with my little one as part of our nightly bedtime ritual.
Our family is really enjoying the app and I have introduced it to some educates and librarians who love it as well. A Bluetooth speaker is not needed for the app to work but it makes the experience that much better, as with a speaker paired the app is better able to hear the reader and more quickly react to what they are reading. We have had pretty good luck with the voice recognition part of the app and all the soundscapes have been wonderful.
I am going to be writing some short thoughts on children’s books as I am reading so many of them. I will add a little part at the end of the review if the book works with Novel Effect and talk a little about it.
Well that’s about it for now. Alice is sleeping after a marathon reading session and now it’s time for my wife and I to head to bed as well.
