The Sages Dice Project returns to GenCon 2011!

The Sages of RPG Dice Project from The Sages of RPG on Vimeo. We are excited to announce we will be continuing the Sages of RPG Dice Project at GenCon 2011! For those of you who don’t know what the deal is, we have really cool custom dice from Chessex. Last GenCon I decided to do a project with the dice rather than just handing them out to random people. It was a blast and I met so many awesome people, most of whom I probably would not have met if it had not been for the Sages Dice Project. Also as a bigger goal the students I work with are always interested in learning about the people I meet in my gaming travels. So this project helps  me share who I meet at conventions and events. I ask people to pose for a photo with one of our custom dice, and then catalogue where they are from on our website. Throughout the convention if you find someone wearing a Sages of RPG logo shirt just ask them for a die and become part of history! All we ask is three things from you: Your name Where you are from A photo of you with the die I will be updating this post throughout the convention with information on who has gotten one of our dice. Our goal is to hand out and “catalog” at least 25 dice during the convention. Please help us with this goal! It will be a blast. I’ll tweet where we will be now and then during the con so be sure to follow @SagesOfRPG on twitter and...

Pax East 2011

We headed to Pax East 2011 at the Boston Convention center this past weekend to take in all the sights. We headed down on Saturday and Sunday and had a great time. Saturday was our first day at the Con and there was alot to see. We walked in got our swag bags, and even with over 70,000 people in the hall the first person we saw was Ben from Troll In the Corner. We said hello heard about how his Friday was and then setup a time to meet for some gaming in the open gaming area. The convention was huge, there was a lot to take in. We searched high and low and finally found the coat check, checked our coats and then it was on. Heading into the main exhibit hall we were instantly greeted by Geek Chic and their amazing gaming tables, along with lots of lights and sounds from all the video game booths. Taking our time we walked up and down each row and soaked everything in. After walking around the hall for a bit we headed over to the Tabletop Gaming Library. The Tabletop library was open to all Pax attendes and was well stocked with all the best board, card, and roleplaying games. You just find a game you want to play, check it out by giving them you photo ID, and then find people to play with. There was a twitter hashtag, and various LFG(Looking for group/game) signs that helped you find those extra players you needed. My first game was with guy (i forget his name). We played Tsuro,...
